Tour Description
6 Day Around Iceland Mini Bus Tour
Join us on an exceptional 6-day expedition to Iceland’s most popular attractions. We start from Reykjavik. We will visit the most famous and beautiful places in Iceland, including several little-known treasures of Icelandic nature depending on weather and conditions.
This 6-day tour will take you along the Golden Circle with all its amazing sights. You will see the great Gulfoss Waterfall, Geyser geothermal area and the UNESCO world heritage site, Þingvellir National Park. Then you will head to the popular South Coast, where you will explore the unique black sand beach Reynisfjara and the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, including the Diamond beach. After exploring the East Fjords, you will explore the lava pillars of Dimmuborgir, lake Mývatn with its unique surroundings, and then travel to the Northern capital Akureyri, and then back South to Reykjavik on the last day.
You can book additional tours and activities to make your experience even more striking, such as Horse Riding, Hiking and Exploring Ice caves, Whale watching and swim in Myvatn nature bath. Itinerary - day by day
Day 1 – Golden Circle
Your journey will start in the capital – Reykjavik, where you will be met by a bus and will go directly to the famous Golden circle. To make this day even more interesting, you can add a horse tour and get a unique opportunity – a horse ride on an Icelandic horse.
Thingvellir National Park is the first stop of the tour. At this point, the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates touch each other. The largest natural lake in Iceland is also located in the Thingvellir National Park, home to many species of fish and birds. Thingvellir has an amazing cultural heritage, as the Parliament of Iceland´s Parliement was founded there in 930 a.d.. The name “Þingvellir” translates as “Parliamentary Fields”. This place is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Your next stop is the Geothermal geyser area, there are dozens of colourful bubbling hot springs and two Geysers. The same Geyser that gave the name to all the Geysers in the world – Geyser the father of all is dormant at the moment but the other, Strokkur erupts every 5-10 minutes.
At the end of the day, you will see the most famous waterfall Gullfoss, where water from the glacial river Hvítá rushes down two levels of total 32 meters high. The Golden ring got its name from Gullfoss, which means Golden Waterfall.

Day 2 – South coast and glacier
On the second day of the tour you will drive the South coast, to the amazing waterfall Seljalandsfoss – 65 meters heigh. This stunning waterfall is one of the highest in Iceland and can be walked behind when weather conditions allow. Next you will see another waterfall – Skógafoss. The largest waterfall in Iceland. According to an ancient legend, the Vikings hid treasures in a cave hidden behind a waterfall. In addition to this part of the tour, you can go Glacier hiking on one of the Glaciers on the south coast, with a trained and experienced guide. Also there is possible to drive a snowmobile on the glacier with a guide and equipment needed for the ride.
The final stop of the day will be on the famous Black beach of Reynisfjara, a mysterious place with volcanic black sand and columnar basalt Stuðlaberg. There you can see the Black Basalt Columns are called “Reynisdrangar”. They stand out of the ocean as Troll fingers created by a volcano eruption thousands of years ago. From Cape Dyrhóley you can enjoy beautiful views of the black sand beaches, the black basalt columns of Reynisdrangar and from the North – the mighty Katla volcano that sleeps under the glacier Mýrdalsjökull. On a clear day, almost the entire coastline can be seen. In the summer, thousands of puffins build their nests on the grassy slopes around.

Day 3 – Ice Cave and Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón
You dreamed to see the Ice Cave with your own eyes – today this day has come! If you are traveling from April to October.
This is a rare phenomenon of nature, when the meltwater from the glacier freezes in such a way that forms these fantastic caves. These amazing impressions will remain with You for the rest of your life. And, of course, you will make gorgeous photos. Experienced guide will guide you through the unique ice and share their knowledge about the glacier.
Your next stop is the Glacier Lagoon of Jökulsárlón and Diamond beach. Here You will see large icebergs drifting quietly in the direction of the ocean. Take a walk along the glacier lagoon and enjoy the stunning views. Diamond beach on the other side of the road. Icebergs from the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon end up in the Atlantic Ocean, where winds and the force of the tides throw them back to the sandy beach sparkling like diamonds in all shapes and sizes.

Day 4 – Eastfjords
You will spend the fourth day in the Eastern fjords of Iceland, where you will see amazing and unique wildlife. This is the only place in Iceland where you can see Reindeers. Deep Fjords – high mountain ranges and the mighty Vatnajökull Glacier, rising in the West, the largest in Iceland. Going through and stopping when needed in the peaceful fishing villages on the coast line.
Hallormsstaðaskógur forest Is your next destination. The largest forest in Iceland. There are almost no trees in Iceland, so it is unusual to see a forest here! Next you will see a Lake Lagarflót. Try to see with your own eyes a mythical creature that looks like a worm, which, as local legends say, lives in the depths of the lake
Day 5 – lake Myvatn, Dimmuborgir fortress and Námaskarð pass (Dettifoss)
Traveling from East Iceland towards the North we will drive through the Glacial Valley, over high mountains of Möðrudalsheiði and if weather allows to explore Dettifoss. The second most powerful waterfall in Europe.
You will explore the geothermal area around lake Mývatn. Here you will see unusual lava formations, mud pools and other unique natural beauties.
Driving through the Námaskarð pass, a high-temperature geothermal zone where the earth boils and gurgles. The orange and red landscape in this area shows how diverse Icelandic nature can be.
Your next stop is Dimmuborgir columnar basalt area, also called the Black Fortress -a place where you explore a field of unusual lava formations, unique shapes that rise from the ground. Their outlines, according to legends, resemble trolls, elves and other mythical creatures.
Relax and unwind in the warm waters at the Mývatn Natural Geothermal Spa. The water rises here from a depth of 2500 meters.

Akureyri is Your stop for the night. On the way you will see the amazing waterfall Goðafoss – “waterfall of the gods”.

Day 6 – Northern Iceland
The last day of the tour will take place on the way from the Northern capital of Iceland – Akureyri to the main-Reykjavik, in the South. Of course, with a couple of interesting stops along the way. The first of them is the village of Hauganes, located near Akureyri. Here you can choose a Whale Safari and see humpback whales and other inhabitants of the deep waters. Or you can choose Beer spa “Beer SPA”. Take a dip in warm beer and brewer’s yeast, which are good for your skin and hair. You can enjoy a cold beer while you bathe in the warmth. Add the entrance to the beer baths as an extra when booking. There is a lot to see in this small town. We recommend that you take a walk around this lovely town. It has a charming Harbor and a beautiful black sandy beach with views of the ocean and the enchanting high mountains. Add a Whale Safari tour as an extra when booking. (Note that you can’t choose both on this day).
After your visit to Hauganes, you will go to Reykjavik. There are many attractions in the capital that are worth seeing. It’s up to you how you spend the rest of your time. Everyone should find something to their liking, whether it’s whale watching, delicious food or shopping. We do not recommend booking a flight home on the same evening, as the weather can be unpredictable and delays during the tour may affect your itinerary.

* Customers traveling alone will get one room. When booking for 2 people there will be a double room. When booking 3 or more people-triple rooms will be automatically booked. For example, a group of 8 people will get 2 triple rooms and 1 double. If it does not meet your requirements, please contact us.
* Customers choose between a beer bath or whale watching on day 6. You cannot select both options.
* The Northern lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore cannot be guaranteed, but this route is designed to maximize your chances of seeing it, weather permitting. Please note that there is no Northern lights hunting on this tour, but your guide will let you know if conditions are favorable and advise you on how and where to see it best.
* Maximum baggage weight is 24 kg per person – 0ne bag per person. If you have extra bags or more baggage then we can store it at our office for a fee of 2000 ISK per luggage while you take this trip. This is due to limited capacatiy of the bus for each trip.
* In case of extreme weather, some events may be cancelled. If this happens, we will help you change or book other events whenever possible. The difference in price will be refunded to you.
* Icelandic roads and sidewalks are very slippery in winter. We recommend that you bring shoes with non-slip soles or cramp ons. Cramp ons can be bought here in most supermarkets and gas stations.
* Pick You up from Reykjavik and bring You back to the city. You can pay for the transfer to the airport separately. The arrival time back to Reykjavik at the end of the tour varies depending on the weather and traffic.
Cancellation:
* Cancellation and reimbursement of individual services is not impossible. But if the tour is completely canceled, they are covered and reimbursed.
